STOP DUMP 41- Danny Beaton and friends

Posted in Uncategorized by Coach Frankie

As Human beings, we rely on two main things for LIfe, Water and AIR. Without Water, we can only live for 4 DAYS!!!  It is imperative that we treat water like Gold, because once it dries up or is spoiled, we can’t reinvent it.

So what  RIGHT does the Ontario Government have to destroy one of the last PURE sources of water in the World? What gives Dalton McGinty and Environment Minister John Gerretsen the right to spoil our heritage, our country,  the future of clean water for our children, with a DUMP site directly over the water?  This site could go anywhere. Let’s get real. No one WANTS a Dump site in their community, but when that site SPOILS the purest, cleanest, freshest water in the World, SOMEONE NEEDS to get their HEADS Examined. Where is the COMMON SENSE that Dictates this might not be such a great idea?

  1. Several sources, including Environment Canada, agree that Canada is on the brink of a freshwater crisis. It is important that we make the protection of freshwater sources — not the placement of new landfills — our first priority.
  2. All life drinks from the springs that will be drained: beaver, bear, wolves, deer, fox, coyotes, turkeys, eagles, ducks and many others. The draining of the aquifer at Site 41 will affect the Wye River and Wye Marsh — an important bird sanctuary in Ontario.

In a recent report, German scientist Dr William Shotyk noted the water bubbling from the Surface Springs is so clean the only match for its purity is ice pulled from the bottom of Arctic ice cores from snows deposited thousands of years ago, well before any high-polluting industries existed. “This is kind of like the Old-Growth Forest of natural waters”, says William Shotyk, a geochemistry professor of the University of Heidelberg in Germany. It’s the best water on earth – in Tiny Township.

It shouldn’t matter if you live in Ontario, or Canada or any other country on Earth, Water belongs to us ALL and it must be protected by us all. Please visit the website of www.dannybeaton.ca to sign the petition to STOP Bill 41.and find the map to the site

There is a desperate need for volunteers at the site. Please join us there. Danny says that there is coffee and the volunteers are being well fed by the locals. No better time like the present to be part of the future now.
